Pacquiao-Marquez III

Mayweather will be in the Philippines during the Pacquiao-Marquez 3 Boxing Match? Is this possible? Read.

What to expect during the Pacquiao-Marquez III?

A. These are the traditional (and boring) answers:

1. Pacquiao will be the winner.
2. Almost zero crime rate.
3. Cease fire between the military and the insurgents.

B. These are the surprise answers:

1. Betting and gambling on the Pacquiao-Marquez fight will become virtually legal.

Government officials will openly claim that they are betting with a huge amount of money on Pacquiao although they knew the this is an illegal gambling. The catholic and other churches are silence on this gambling issue. Maybe the church leaders are betting, too.

2. High Sales on Liquor and Beer.

While waiting for the start of the fight, people will be drinking alcohol. During the fight, they will enjoy shouting and drinking again on every intermission. After the fight, expect them to go somewhere else to continue drinking.

3. Economic Slowdown.

Of course it is Sunday and there is no work. What would you expect? But there are some economic activities during Sundays that may stop or slowdown.

4. Slower Productions on the Day After.

In addition to the hangover, expect that on the first hour of work, it would be a Pacquiao-Marquez memory recall. While on the job, most would be spending their time talking about the fight. There productive thinking will be overlapped by the memories about the fight.

C. The “Expect the Unexpected” or “Mayweather” answers: (remembering the Mayweather vs Ortiz) answers:
“How a ‘Mayweather’ can enter into the Pacquiao-Marquez fight.”

1. Overpricing or over billing in a restaurant.

This crime will be done through surprise and may remain unknown on that day because the victim will be drunk.

2. Terrorists Might Attack ala “Mayweather”.

While the Police and the Military are relaxing and watching the fight, terrorists may exploit this situation and use the “Mayweather” approach.

Bad Roads In and Out of Baguio

Today, 11:00 AM, Sept 17, 2011. My supposed to be trip from Baguio to Agoo is a nightmare. Marcos Highway is closed. The bus that I am riding takes the Naguilian Road. Naguilian Road is a one(1) lane road because of the on-going road constructions.

Please note that in Baguio, they traditionally repair the road during rainy season and President Noynoy Aquino commended the Department of Public Works and Highways for their “job well done”?. Huh? Mr. President, do you know what is going on? The roads, look at the roads going to Baguio. Maybe this was also the reason why one of our batchmate, who has a high position in Public Works and Highway, does not want to show up during any Batch ’75 BCHS Alumni Homecoming.

When it reaches Naguilian Road at the PLDT building, the bus was stationary of almost one(1) hour. The bus driver made a sudden decision. He announced that the bus will take another route, the Wakat Sueldo Road.

I decided to board-off the bus because of the risk involved. The conductor does not want to refund my Php 80.

For everybody’s information, Wakat Sueldo Road mostly has 45 degree angle of slope or inclination. Most vehicles would probably wouldn’t make it. Very risky specially during rainy days. Slippery road and today is already raining hard.

Let us just pray that there is no road accident in Wakat Suelo Road. -Amen-
